Minneapolis, MN — Minneapolis City are proud to announce the first raft of new signings for the 2017 season, with familiar faces from the 2016 Premier League of America season and the U.S. Open Cup building a strong foundation for the year ahead.
Two PLA West Division players of the year return: goalkeeper Matt Elder and midfielder Ben Wexler.
“They bring veteran leadership and recognized quality” said Sporting Director Jon Bisswurm “and were top of our list to re-sign.”
Midfielders Samuel “Sammy with the good hair” Ruiz-Plaza and AJ Albers return and Charlie Adams comes in from the U.S. Open Cup roster.
Additionally, defenders Nate Engel and Aaron Olson return. The back line is bolstered by new signing Joey Gustafson, signed from Duluth.
“I’m excited about our team” said head coach Adam Pribyl “because of the quality of player and the steel that I know these guys have. They have unfinished business from last season.”
