New Hope native Matt Elder joined Minneapolis City in 2016.

He was a Premier League of America Team of the Year selection after a stellar first tear with the Crows, only a year after breaking his leg in a match against Detroit City FC. He was instrumental in winning qualification to the U.S. Open Cup through the amateur qualifiers. He captained the side in the 2017 National Premier Soccer League season.

Elder played college ball at University of Wisconsin Superior.
