A core part of the Future Program, our one-of-a-kind player development initiative that bridges the gap between youth soccer and adult soccer, is the Futures League. As part of the program, Futures players will join one of four teams in the Futures League and play league matches against each other.
“The best way to get ready for high-level competition is to compete at a high level.” – Jon Bisswurm
The purpose of the league is to give the players a chance to show what they can do in a competitive situation with the end goal, of course, to win a chance to show what they can do in the senior team.
Each of the four teams will be named after neighborhoods in Minneapolis. They will each have their own unique logo and kits.
We begin with Northeast. The idea of Minneapolis City SC was brewed up at a bar in Northeast and it felt right to commemorate a great idea in a great neighborhood with a great team.
