Matt VanBenschoten has been an important part of building Minneapolis City since joining the club in 2018.
As an assistant coach his first year, VanBenschoten helped the Crows to an undefeated conference season and their first North Conference title. The next year, in 2019, he became head coach and led the Crows to two consecutive conference titles (2019 and 2021, as the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19), including the NPSL regular season crown in 2021. He helmed the club through the U.S. Open Cup and first season USL League Two in 2022 as well.
He took over the General Manager role starting in the 2023 season and has shaped the sporting side of the club, working across the senior team and Futures.
